Bears are one stud DL, one good OT and a good S away from being a serious contender.

I wonder if any folks in those five zero-prime markets are subscribed to Sunday ticket for better games.

Already I see three guaranteed losses for the Texans:  at the Eagles, and home vs. Ravens and Giants.  Lamar Jackson has beaten my team by an average of margin of around 27 PPG.  The Texans are a combined 1 win and 11 losses vs Giants and Eagles.  Their only win was in their franchise inaugural season vs Giants; they are winless vs Eagles.  I am 100 % absolutely convinced the Texans lose those three games.

I'm going to make a bold prediction that the Texans match last season's accomplishments:  12-5 regular season and, in what has come to be the NFL's annual traditional: elimination in the Divisional Round....0-7 to date in franchise history, next January will make it 0-8.  The Texans are the only team in the league seemingly banned by the NFL from even appearing a conference championship game the way it's been looking.

At least the Houston Texans made it to the post season. It's been 15 years since the Jets made it to the post season. While the Texans have not made it to the conference championship since been enfranchised since 2002, there are two AFC teams (Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins) and one NFC team (Dallas Cowboys) who have had longer streaks.

Regarding the streaming schedule:  the Netflix-exclusive games total five this season.

Week 1:  Thursday, September 10, San Francisco vs. Los Angeles Rams, 8:35 ET (in Melbourne, Australia)
Week 12:  Wednesday, November 25, Green Bay at Los Angeles Rams, 8:00 ET (this is the night before Thanksgiving, a first for the NFL)
Week 16:  Friday, December 25, Green Bay at Chicago, 1:00 ET and Buffalo at Denver, 4:30 ET
Week 18:  Saturday, January 9, an afternoon game to be determined

The claim by the NFL is:

QuoteNFL EVP/media distribution Hans Schroeder said in a Friday conference call that the league views the streamer as a platform its viewers already use: "When we're going onto Netflix, we're going onto a platform that is already massively adopted and a huge number of viewers on that platform already, including a huge number of NFL fans."

Yeah, right, Netflix is paying a ton of money for exclusive rights to these games to give its existing customers added value, rather than for the primary purpose of drawing in new customers.  I don't have Netflix, don't intend to subscribe to it, and the NFL just loses me for those five games.

The Amazon Prime Thursday schedule has been available legally and for free on Twitch.  I don't have Amazon Prime either, and if they were to drop the free streaming via Twitch they would lose me on Thursday nights as well.

Every game airs live locally, and if you have a good enough internet service and find the right IPTV provider, you can get all those local channels for about $15/month

Did you find the "right" IPTV provider?  Because I recall from an earlier discussion that you were looking for one that gave you reliable service for your $15.

Yeah, I found that the problem was with my player and not the service. I switched players and it's much better. Only downside is that the new player doesn't record.

Under NFL rules, if a game is on a streaming or cable channel, then the game has to offered to be broadcast in the teams primary broadcast market. In the example of the 49ers game, however, the Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto television market is considered a secondary broadcast market, so it's Netflix only.

I'm not that die-hard of a 49ers fan to pick up the NFL Sunday Ticket in Dallas. If I were, I would be kinda mad because the Netflix exclusivity means that the NFL Sunday Ticket, advertised as a way to watch "out-of-market" games, won't get this game. As it is, I end up viewing the game highlights on NFL.com .

It's all about the money, fans be damned.

When I lived in Raleigh 25 +/- years ago, it was considered to be part of the Panthers' (and Hornets') home market.  That meant we were subject to the blackout etc. rules.
