One thing that struck me this year is that North Korea isn't participating.  And it's not because they were banned, or because they elected not to, but rather because they didn't have any qualifying athletes this year.

My wife and I pretty just stick to mixed doubles when it comes to curling.  So we're probably done with that event.

But we just started watching hockey.  She's not interested in women's hockey, just men's, and we just watched our first game the other day:  the USA stomping the snot out of Latvia.

Having both the women and men's teams lose hockey to the US is devastating, especially given the "51st state" rhetoric of the last year. But that's just the way she goes sometimes. At least both games were close!

That 1.5 minute long 5 on 3 power play kill was amazing.  Also, the fact that the USA men's team gave up no power play goals in the entire tournament.

Now that this Olympics is over, it's time to move on to the next one: the 2028 Summer Games in L.A. First one in the city since 1984, and first on American soil since 1996 in Atlanta.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

He said summer games. SLC was winter games.

But he didn't say "first summer games in the US since 1996." He said (emphasis added), "Now that this Olympics is over, it's time to move on to the next one: the 2028 Summer Games in L.A." In other words, I understood the first sentence of his post to establish an overall context of considering all Olympic Games, not just summer or winter.

It will be the first 2028 Summer Games in L.A. on American soil since 1996 in Atlanta.

It'll be the first Olympic Games ever.

Sorry I wasn't clear on the distinction, and yes, I remember Salt Lake City in 2002.
