Stop me if this has been done before, but I ended up on a map that has drawn me, from north to south, to:
* Route 31 former Lackawanna abutment (thanks to Valerie)
* Bell Avenue bridge, Glen Gardner (thanks to Matt)
* School Street (Glen Gardner) bridge (thanks to Matt)
* Main Street in Clinton
* NJ 173 (not much newer)
* Hamden Road
* Hamden Landsdown Bridge
* Raritan River Railroad Bridges (from the crossing only, no trespassing)
* Camp Buck Bridge
* Hamden River Road
* Kiceniuk Bridge
* Shepherds Iron and Kings Mill Stone Bridge
* Smith Homestead Stone Bridge
* Stanton Truss Bridge

And I'm not even to Flemington yet. I've done these myself (I think) but would like to show people the world of beautiful bridges out that way. There may be a few others to add. So first, has this been done? Second, are you interested? Third, this year?

Close enough to get down there almost whenever...as long as I'm not somewhere else.

Color me intrigued! I've never gotten an opportunity to explore Hunterdon County (although I think I went to Flemington once as a kid). I'm down, but with the Harrisburg/Hershey Road Meet in May, and my Bulls playing a football game up at West Point in the fall, I don't think I can make a third trip up to the NJ/NY/PA area this year. I would definitely go if it is in the spring next year  :D

Potentially, given that I expect to be in the region at some point this summer. Color me interested if dates line up.

Sounds like mostly new stuff from me, and it's an easy day trip, so I'd definitely be interested.

I'm hearing 1. no, 2. yes, 3. maybe. So let's work this out a bit. Any other bridges in that area people are aware of that we should see? Otherwise I can start to look at other roadway features to flesh this out like Route 31 new/old construction. And maybe flip things so that we end with a walk around downtown Clinton.

Mr. Matté

Not sure if you've factored in the timed length of the meat, but if you keep heading downstream along the South Branch Raritan, there's also Rockafellow's Mill, (starting to get into Somerset) Higginsville, Woodfern Road (half old truss, half boring concrete), and Neshanic Station (the lenticular truss on 667 plus more RR bridges).

Absolutely interested in coming.

This may be the old-school Columbus style, where we keep going as long as people want.

Glen Gardner has two bridges worth the effort: the Bell Avenue bridge and the School Avenue (Glen Gardner Pony Pratt).

Right now the poll is pretty empty. Is this still a thing I should finish planning?

Mr. Matté

I think I have something June 20th and I believe July 11 is the Ben Franklin Bridge's 100th Anniversary celebration that some in our community I believe are going to. Marked June 27 & July 18 for me.

Alps

1 day to go and we have a leading candidate... will that date hold? Stay tuned.

And the winner is: June 27! Since all the bridges are in this thread, shouldn't be too much trouble to plan, but I do welcome if anyone wants to assist. And if anyone has a thought for the meet luncheon location.

I guess that depends on where you want to start.  Just browsing around on Google maps, around Clinton, there's the Clinton Station Diner just one exit over from a Walmart and plaza, with Frank's Pizza and Italian Restaurant in the plaza area.  There's also some stuff around Glen Gardner and Hampton (as well as a plaza that looks like it's seen better days and probably has plenty of parking), but I also noticed an abandoned bridge abutment for the Lackawanna Railroad.

Clinton Station Diner sounds interesting, talked it over with Steph and I'm planning on attending, it will be my last big "regional" trip before we start our cross country trip in July

This is the former Warren Railroad originally, built by John Isley Blair (of whom Blairstown is named after). The line went from the Central Railroad of New Jersey in Hampton to Portland, Pennsylvania via Washington and Delaware. The railroad would eventually be taken over by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, but split into two parts: the main line (Washington–Portland) and the Hampton Branch via Changewater. Passenger service between Hampton and Washington was canned on September 18, 1926. The railroad branch and its trestle over Changewater was eliminated in 1959. Changewater's trestle piers are still standing, along with its abutments.
