Issues with Uploading an Avatar

I am having difficulties linking this photo to use as my avatar. Whenever I try, I get this message:

"An error has occurred
Call to undefined function checkSvgContents()"

Why is the software doing this and would it be possible for me to link this file? I have tried to link .svg files from Commons previously, and it worked just fine.

Try having Commons render a PNG of the appropriate size, save it to disk, and see if that works. (I wasn't even aware the forum gave the option to use an SVG.)
