FDOT is testing an electric highway concept that charges EV's using induction coils.

Saving you 8 minutes:
It's a pilot between DOT and company named Electreon
Total electrified portion is 3/4 mile
Similar project in Michigan in 2023-24 didn't materialize
Similar 0.9 mile project in France in 2025 is advertised as success with no real data published.

That's cool, I'm just referencing the fact that FDOT almost universally refers to everything in their state highway system as "State Roads."  The state has been calling their state highways "State Roads" since at least the 1920s.  The earliest references are all over the Florida Highways magazine when it was a much more technical and engineering oriented publication.  It became more of a tourism and humanities piece as time went on (similar to Arizona Highways).

Essentially, I was trying to make a referential joke, and it failed because of pedantry.

I could still laugh, if you'd like.

Lol I always love bragging about this to first-timers whenever I go on Test Track 😂 (given they have a whole scene in the ride dedicated to depicting a fake "wireless charging lane")
I can drive 55 ONLY when it makes sense.
