Sure.  Organize one.

Personally, I think it would be pretty awesome, especially in a major city like Chicago or Boston or something.

A few of my meets have involved stations for pubic transit, even though we haven't gotten on it.  My upcoming meet will involve two different train stations on the same Metra line, for different reasons.

Sure let's all meet at the DDOT transfer plaza in downtown Detroit and ride the bus.

Will the bus's engine catch fire?

Come to the Purple Line transit meet Saturday, April 1, 2028!
  • Meet at New Carrollton at 11 a.m. ET. Park in a parking garage next to the station. Or take Amtrak, Metro, or MARC to the meet.
  • Ride the Purple Line nonstop to Bethesda.
  • Transit meet lunch at Tastee Diner, 5 blocks north of the Bethesda terminal, at 1 p.m.
  • Ride the Purple Line back toward New Carrollton, with several potential stops:
    • Silver Spring Transit Center
    • Silver Spring Library station
    • Manchester Place, with a meet photo in front of the west portal of the Plymouth Tunnel.
    • Campus Drive–UMD station
    • Riverdale Park–Kenilworth station, which overlooks the MD 201–MD 410 intersection
  • Go separate ways from New Carrollton, or go to a post-meet event or dinner.

Disclaimers:
  • I am not committing to hosting this meet. Although my arm is twistable and I might decide to do it anyway.
  • The date gives the Maryland Transit Administration 3 months grace from their current December 2027 expected opening.
  • I am not necessarily telegraphing an April Fool's event. But this is plausible content for a transit meet announcement.

If we ride 1065, then I'd assume not, since it already happened once. Then again, it happened in Mississauga before...

If I ever hosted a meet in the South Jersey/Philly area, I have given thought to include a PATCO ride across the Ben Franklin Bridge.

But...since there was a meet down here not too long ago, that's on a long hold for now...

I clinched PATCO and the AC line of NJ Transit the day before day 1 of Philadelphia.

Hey, I hosted an April Fools' meet and people loved it. Go for it!
