I've decided to tackle a new subject in West Virginia:  Summers County, where the New River and Greenbrier River converge.  It's a small place, but there are good reasons to give it attention:

* Summers directly borders Mercer County, whose roads I've combed over in detail.  It's a logical follow-up to the earlier project.
* I spent a great amount of time in Summers County in my younger years.  Its parks were second to none, and I have very fond memories of its roads, rivers, and scenery!

While I have a good grasp of the county's highway history, there are still a few things I'm a little unclear about.  One is the exact impact of the Bluestone Dam and Bluestone Lake on surrounding roadways, which were either reconstructed at higher elevation or abandoned and flooded.  Another is the exact years WV 20 was routed down the east side of the New River north of Bellepoint, and whether or not they coincided with the construction years of the Bellepoint Bridge (1954) and Hinton New River Bridge (1975).

Anyway, here's the link.  (HTTPS version.)
