About every third Sheetz and about every fifth Speedway have both E85 and E15 around here.

Seems to be no rhyme or reason to which have it in terms of neighborhood vs. highway facing, store footprint, average income of the area, or whatever.  It just seems they decided to have it at every third store.

But there is an obvious reason, as neither Sheetz nor SuperAmerica (now Speedway) have ever upgraded their pumps to add more features (except when the entire station gets a complete rebuild).  So even though it is not true to say that every new Sheetz or Speedway sell E15 and E85, the ones that do are fairly new.

Squirting back over to the parent thread here, a recent Sheetz complete rebuild in this area not only added both E15 and E85 to some of the pumping stations, but also added non-ethanol (E0).  It's a bit complicated to figure out which pump to get something specific, as some pumps have RegMidHi/Diesel/E0; some have the traditional RegMidHi/E15/E85; and yet some others have RegMidHi/Diesel/E15.  The traditional Sheetz have RegMidHi/Diesel at the two sets of outer pumpstands and RegMidHi/E15/E85 at all of the inner pumpstands, which certainly helps old fogeys like me find the E15.

E-85 is available at multiple stations in North Dallas, including QT and RaceTrac, but not at Costco or Sam's Club. I have avoided it as the lower price also means that there is less energy released than regular gas. Also, both vehicles I own are E85 compatible.

It is interesting how the same nozzle is used for fueling at Stewart's Shops for both etenoled and nonethenoled selections whilst at stations in the South separate nozzles are utilised at the pump for the two fuel types.

Update:  Sheetz couldn't unload its' E85 around here when the price was about $1.50 less than E10.  With lower fuel prices, the new tankerloads of E15 are priced the same as E85 from 6 weeks ago.  They are the same price in Hillsborough, Mebane and Chapel Hill North (ergo, whatever E85 is at that particular station the E15 is priced the same; prices differ at each of these Sheetz stations).  Good luck selling E85 at that price.
