Zero Sugar Pepsi w/unspiced dark rum... Aldi's newish Coke Zero knock-off isn't terrible in a pinch.

I seldom drink any soda anymore, but I voted for the one I prefer when I do consume any. The main thing for me is that it be diet soda. Not out of any health-related motivations, though—I simply find most regular soda to be too sweet for my palate.

I tried the RC Zero Sugar recently and thought it was pretty good.

However, I've been a Pepsi Zero Sugar loyalist for probably 30 years, through its previous iterations ("Pepsi One" and then "Pepsi Max"; they've cut back the caffeine quite a bit compared to Pepsi Max).

I never drink the high-calorie stuff at home, but sometimes I do when it's coming out of the fountain machine at a restaurant.  Whatever the difference in chemistry is at the fountain compared to what's in a can, the fountain drinks have a bit of an off taste.

I recall it being available in vending machines when I lived in Michigan.  We have RC here in California but you have to purchase it cans from Vons/Safeway.  I'd agree that their zero drink is pretty tasty.

For a lot of years I was a Pepsi drinker, but then my tastes changed to Coke. I think regular fountain Coke is better than McDonald's Coke though, and I despise Freestyle Coke. I've tried to integrate more zero sugar beverages into my diet with mixed results.

I haven't called it that since it nearly made me a social pariah when my family moved to Connecticut in 1990.  I made the mistake of saying "pop" instead of "soda" during lunch hour at school.  The communal backlash from the school student populace was nearly instantaneous.  I think it was the only time in my life that I was called "a hick."

I had someone tell me back in college once that they "shot a spike" and I thought that meant drugs, but it actually referred to deer hunting.

I think it's interesting that of all the popular beverage imitators, Dr. Pepper's are a galaxy of their own.

The original recipe for Pemberton's French Wine Coca (Coca-Cola's precursor) included both red wine and cocaine.  But they had to change the recipe because it was illegal in the state of Georgia to sell————surprise!————wine.

Although I will admit that I have never tried the new RC zero sugar cola to compare it to RC's legacy diet offering, Diet Rite.

My brother was an ardent Tab drinker back before it was discontinued.
