Has anyone in New Zealand come across a road sign using Series A type?

Found a text "Pavement Ends" sign. This one is 1948-spec.

Most, if not all, Pavement Ends signs are still text where I am from.

Pavement Ends is a text-only sign today. There was a symbol sign for a short time, but it was not well understood and removed from the MUTCD.
