I fell asleep during the 12th.

When I went to bed it was the 11th inning. Good thing I didn't try to stay up for the game.

Henry

I missed the last couple of innings, but that was a hell of a game! Just seeing the ending on SportsCenter, and Freeman's October magic continues with the walkoff HR in the 18th.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Flint1979

That game ended at almost 3am eastern time.

The west coast got a taste of normal sport ending times on the east coast.

Which is why I went to bed when I did.  18 innings is cool but I'm not staying up to midnight on a weekday unless my team is in the World Series.

The last Tigers game took 4 hours, 58 minutes compared to 6 hours, 39 minutes to play 3 more innings lol.

The Red Sox being in the playoffs always reminded me of how much earlier the sun sets in Boston than in Michigan. But yeah it's like midnight here when the games get over it seems like. Good thing it wasn't an 8pm start in LA or else we'd be playing till 5 in the morning.

Last night reminded me of 2005 Game 3 when I had to wake up to get ready for work about 3 hours after the game ended.

I remember that game pretty well. Geoff Blum hitting the home run off that Houston pitcher that could have won an Aunt Esther look alike contest.

The only 8 PM pst start dates in sports I know of are "after dark" college football games (Some NBA/NHL games maybe but most start around 10 EST/7 PST). Nothing better then watching UCLA and Washington sling the rock at 2 AM EST.

What will probably be the most bizarre fact of the 2nd-longest World Series games ever, it appears Country artist Brad Paisley sang the National Anthem for BOTH 18-inning games!

And Brad also sang the anthem for two other extra-inning games at Dodger Stadium as well.

Let's just tell it like it is....it is literally an afternoon start time in LA at 5 pm for the World Series games.

No game would ever start in the evening on the West Coast unless both World Series combatants are in the Pacific Time Zone.  And how about the locals there having to leave work early to see the first pitch of each game.
We're so far south that we're not even considered "The South"

World Series start times are fixed regardless of who is in it. They're always going to be 8:15pm ET because that gets most/all of the game in prime time in all time zones.

And fortunately for me that game had a start time which was based in on being three hours ahead of my current time zone.
