The AL West is stinko as well.

AL Central:  104-116 (.473).  One team 3 games over .500, a second 1 game over .500.
AL West:  98-122 (.445).  One team 1 game over .500.

As a longtime Chevy driver, I find it weird that Ford is now the official vehicle of MLB; how did that happen?

I wondered that too, it remind me of the time when Hockey Night in Canada switched sponsors from Molson to Labatt from 1998 to 2002 from what Google AI told me.

Fortunately for Cubs fans, it was so foggy at Wrigley last night they couldn't see their team lose.

First time I recall seeing a game delayed specifically for fog.  Not misty rain that is sorta foggy.

First time I can remember a baseball game being postponed for intense wildfire smoke and smog...

It was Friday night's Guardians/Pirates game in Cleveland which is now scheduled to be part of  a day/night double-header today/Saturday.

However there are supposed to be a high risk of severe weather today beginning this afternoon, so I would be very surprised if they can get either game completed around the storms.

The Seattle Mariners had two entire series moved out of Seattle in September 2020, with two games moved to San Francisco and three more moved to San Diego.

In college football, the "Camp Fire" that tore through Paradise, CA in November 2018 forced the postponement of the Big Game in Berkeley.  Cal and Stanford did make up the game a couple weeks later, the day after the Pac-12 Championship Game was played.

The Camp Fire was the worst I recall in recent memory in my area for air quality.  The burning building debris kicked up a lot of nasty stuff into the air.  The building stuff triggered all sorts of my allergies whereas normal forest fires don't.  Over 18,000 buildings were destroyed in the Camp Fire, and it killed 85 people.

The Air Quality Index was actually worse during the 2020 fire season.  Most of it was forest debris and I don't recall it ever bothering me when I was out running.
