Good to hear, that spot really needs it. To be quite honest, I've always been kinda surprised that that section of I-20/I-59 has remained four lanes, especially since it's 6+ lanes north of there and six lanes south of I-459 already.

The 6 lanes south of 459 makes sense when you consider that 459 is a major traffic split.

459 is the quicker route around normally and is shorter by mileage for I-20 traffic so it makes sense

I-20/59 South of I-459 also had a narrow median and was prone to crossover accidents.  I-20 east of Birmingham had a similar issue and was also 6-laned.
