Diagonal span wire with two all-direction thru fixtures and a left turn fixture between them.  This used to be a fairly common setup in the metro Detroit area but this is the only one I've seen still existing.

That one doesn't strike me as weird, just because I'm used to seeing that sort of thing in Mexico.

But all of this shows that they really want traffic to not make the mistake of either veering left of the median.  Well, if that's the case, then just put up flashing yellow beacons next to the overhead Keep Right sign—not a green arrow.

Why not just make the yellow traffic delineator cones start earlier instead of at the gore? Seems like a less expensive and less complicated solution.

Avondale, AZ: Buckeye Rd at Avondale Blvd (115 av). This intersection was converted from 5 section PPLT to protected only. Strangely, there appeared to be an interim phase from at least June 2016 to at least November 2016 where the tower was replaced with an FYA assembly, but with the FYA being covered up, leaving just the RYG arrows operating in protected only mode. I'm not sure why they felt the need to cover the FYA when it could just be permanently inactive (as is the case with several installations in Peoria). Eventually it was replaced with a standard three section RYG arrow assembly. All done with no change to the mast arm. A right turn arrow tower was also installed for the southbound approach (from the tracks), with a U turn conflict, as U turns are not prohibited from eastbound. Though actual conflict seems unliekly, as there is no median, thus the demand for U turns would be negligible in theory.
