That would actually be a cool sign if the cross street had a heavier volume than the street with the sign on it. Alas, that does not appear to be the case here.

It's likely meant to accommodate trucks going along the smaller road.

A little undersized for an arrow per lane sign?  WB I-10 approaching I-69.

A badly formatted sign. I would expect better from the State of Texas.

The "p" in Jeep and the "P" in Parkway seem to be swapped for some reason.

Is that a sign with a design error, or is it a damaged sign? Did the route marker fall off?

Stop sign inside a pentagon.  Hard to know if it used to be a school warning sign or if it's a brand-new sign.

The bigger design error is the font and the side borders.

That's actually a throwback to the original Merritt Parkway signage.

There are several of these undersized schematic/primitive APL things such as that and this and this scattered around the Houston area. I believe they date from the early 2000s.

Those are the type of arrows that should have been used over what is seen now -- eliminates some of the empty green space on the signs and is more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.

But harder to interpret.  I shouldn't have to count lanes from the edge line in order to know if I'm in the correct lane or not.

Sorry for the confusion.  I meant use the  taller and tapered arrows in the Texas examples instead of the shorter, skinnier arrows they use now.

How do taller arrows make for less green space?
