The more interesting part of this article/video is the news that they will be closing I-70 for 10 months in 2027 and that US71 will be the detour. I can already see the complaints about those traffic lights coming. Those 10 months will suck because I'm guessing the traffic will increase on I-435 as well.

MoDOT held a public meeting last night in Boonville for the Boonville-to-Rocheport portion of Improve I-70 and posted the plans to the website, although we don't get a roll plot or anything like that: https://www.modot.org/improvei70/boonvillerocheport

The only notable upgrade to any of the Boonville interchanges is the addition of a roundabout at Route B and Americana Drive, about 400 feet north of the ramps to and from westbound I-70: https://www.modot.org/sites/default/files/documents/Roundabout_Overview_Board_36x48_20scale.pdf

U.S. Route 63 Highway Realignment in Osage County

This project will realign U.S. Route 63 from south of U.S. Route 50 to the Maries River in order to address safety concerns and improve the flow of traffic. In the past 10 years, this corridor has seen 190 crashes that have resulted in seven fatalities, 12 serious injuries, and 80 minor injuries.

Construction could begin as early as fall 2027 and be completed in December 2029.

This has been needed for a long time--US 63 is a very annoying drive from the US 50 junction south to about the Gasconade River bridge, and this is one of the worst parts of it. Lots of semi traffic, lots of hills and curves, several small towns, few passing opportunities. Ideally the entire stretch needs four-laned as far south as Rolla.
