US 212 enters WY three times.  It crosses the WY/ MT Line, followed by the MT/ WY Line then hundreds of miles to the east it crosses the MT/ WY Line and finally the WY/ SD Line.

Not enough to count; the first three crossing are the same pair of states (WY/MT), so that's one. Then the last crossing, WY/SD, makes two. From Wyoming, it needs to enter one other state besides Montana and South Dakota, so that you have a third border: WY/??

E60 Switzerland-Austria-Germany-Austria-Hungary
E58 Slovakia-Ukraine-Romania-Moldovia-Ukraine-Russia (that's 4)
E65 Hungary-Croatia-Bosnia-Croatia-Montenegro

By George, that's got it! From Austria, E60 enters three other countries. From Croatia, E65 enters three other countries. And from the Ukraine, E58 enters four other countries, spectacular!

(At least I assume it is...I only have the Internet here, so I haven't an accurate enough map in front of me to actually follow all those routings!)
I see it now!  I was confused by how the states need to be arranged in this.

BTW this really is a brain teaser.  It will sure keep us all thinking, but hopefully learning other stuff while we seek I am sure.  Good topic, I must confess.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.
