This week is the first of two updates with photos from my Columbus Day weekend trip to Syracuse via Binghamton (this week south of the I-81 project area, next week in it and around Syracuse).  I added the Southern Tier History article and updated the articles index; renamed the Capital District region to Capital Region in the articles and photo gallery to match the economic development region; and updated the I-88, I-81, I-690, BL 81, I-90, and Thruway exit lists.  I also added photos for I-88, I-81, and US 11.

The I-81 photo page has a slightly different system for assigning location codes that should improve things: I hope to make this system gallery-wide over time, but it will take some time.  The change is subtle since the page is so new, but it should be more dramatic when it comes to more established pages.

This week, I added images to the Western NY, US 219, and Finger Lakes articles; split off the Rochester Outer Loop article; and updated the I-81, I-90, Thruway, and Garden State Parkway exit lists.  I also added photos for I-81, BL 81, I-81 (Historic), I-690, and West Street.

Over the past couple weeks, I've spread the new photo location system to all these pages, as well as the Thruway (I-90/I-87 mainline and Berkshire Spur), I-88, I-890/NY 890, I-781, and I-90 (Albany) pages.  It's nice to have all photos fully in order!  My next targets, whenever I get to them, are the Garden State Parkway connector, I-787/NY 787, and the remainder of I-87.  From there, likely the western part of the state, the rest of the Hudson Valley, followed by downstate and a look at the rest of the routes to check for issues (in theory, this change shouldn't affect roads without exit numbers, but that's not necessarily true in practice).

This week's update focuses on the aerial images added to the Capital Region article.  I also added images of the Buffalo Skyway to the Western NY article and updated the I-278, Robert Moses Causeway, Southern State Parkway/Heckscher State Parkway, Meadowbrook State Parkway, and Wantagh State Parkway exit lists.

This month, I added photos for I-87/Northway, NY 5, I-90 (Albany), I-787, NY 7, the Green Island Bridge, NY 157, and NY 85; added article images to the Mid-Hudson (split from NYC/LI) and Capital Region History articles; and updated the I-678, I-495, I-290, I-86, I-81, NY 481, BL 81, Hutchinson River Parkway, Bronx River Parkway, Belt Parkway, and Northern State Parkway exit lists.

To update regarding the photo locations, I have most of NY done, and hope to have it finished by the end of the year.  Afterwards, I'll proceed on to other jurisdictions, starting with NJ and PA.

This week, I added photos for I-90/Thruway, BL 81, I-81 (Historic), I-81, I-481/NY 481, I-490, NY 441, NY 404, NY 104, I-590/NY 590, NY 153, I-390, and US 20A; split off the Long Island History article and added images; and updated the I-81, I-87, Thruway, I-390, I-495, BL 81, Wantagh State Parkway, Meadowbrook State Parkway, Robert Moses Causeway, and Sunken Meadow State Parkway exit lists.

Also, if anyone knows of good web hosting places, I'm interested in moving, since IONOS restricts command line access to my web space to 30 minute increments, which isn't enough time for me to do everything I need to update my photo gallery (since adding the photos to the database after they're uploaded and adding the metadata is done via Perl scripts), and it doesn't seem like I'm going to get them to undo that and make the timeout based on inactivity instead (like it used to be until a few months ago).

This week, I added photos for I-87/Thruway, I-84, I-684, I-287, the Saw Mill River Parkway, Cross County Parkway, and the Bronx River Parkway; added more images to the Long Island History article, updated an image on the Capital Region History article, and added an image on the US 219 Upgrade article; and updated the I-89, I-87, I-287, Thruway, and Southern State Parkway exit lists.

The updated photo gallery ordering is completed for New York, New Jersey, and the New England states.  Yes, I said Pennsylvania would be next after New Jersey, but I realized that I needed to get New England done if I wanted to stick to my goal of "no updates under the old system"; the reason why will be obvious with next week's update.

This week, I concluded the project to add aerial images to the history articles with the photos added to the NYC History article.  The I-278 exit list was updated as well, and I also added photos as follows:

-Connecticut: I-95
-New York: I-95, the Hutchinson River Parkway, I-278, I-87/Major Deegan Expressway, NY 895, the Mosholu Parkway, and the Henry Hudson Parkway

This week, I added contents sections to many articles, upgraded some articles to be more consistent with the others, moved I-81/I-481 history not related to the viaduct removal to the Central New York article, and updated the NY 363 exit list.  I also added photos as follows:

-New York: I-87/Thruway and the Palisades Interstate Parkway
-New Jersey: The Palisades Interstate Parkway, I-95/New Jersey Turnpike, I-95/New Jersey Turnpike Eastern Route, Garden State Parkway, I-80, NJ 19, I-280, US 202, and I-287

On the photo location front, I finished Pennsylvania and Delaware.  Onward to Maryland!

This month, I completed the photo location ordering project, so the entire gallery is now in proper order!  I also updated the NY 481 exit list and the links page.

At some point, I'd like to go through the gallery and remove some redundant lower quality photos as well as make the way rerouted/decommissioned highways are handled more consistent with I-81 and I-481, so you may see those efforts in the future.

This month, I updated the I-81 and I-690 exit lists with the remaining mile-based exit numbers and and started the work to improve photo organization consistency (including the most visible work of making the pages affected by things like the I-95 direct ramps in PA or the completion of A-30 in QC consistent with how I handled I-81 in NY).

This week, I completed improving the photo organization consistency; I also updated the Inner Loop History article, the Niagara Scenic Parkway exit list, and the links page (adding more 511 links).  I also added a few old photos to the following pages:

-New Jersey: NJ 33, US 1, and US 1 and US 9 Truck
-New York: I-90/Thruway
-Québec: A-30
