The concrete roadways along Interstate 85 through Vance County were repaved with asphalt as part of $8.4 million project between October 2007 and October 2008.1

Exit 233 departs I-85, 0.54 miles south of the Virginia line for U.S. 1/401. The initial 7.04 miles of U.S. 401 overlap with U.S. 1 south to Wise and the town of Norlina. U.S. 401 turns southeast from Norline to Warrenton while U.S. 1 combines with U.S. 158 west to Ridgeway and Henderson. 07/09/10

NC 39 (Andrews Avenue) angles northwest from Downtown Henderson to meet I-85/U.S. 158 west at Exit 214. Traveling 78.6 miles overall, NC 39 leads north from Henderson to Harris Crossroads, Williamsboro, Townsville and the Virginia state line. Southward the route links Henderson with the Franklin County seat of Louisburg. 05/29/21
