Mostly an arterial, Route 38 measures 19.19 miles in length from the confluence of U.S. 30 and U.S. 130 in west Pennsauken township east to U.S. 206 at Southampton township.

U.S. 206 travels 28 miles southward to its terminus at Hammonton and U.S. 30 / Route 54.
