Entering the state near Fulton, U.S. 30 stretches 152 miles across Illinois. The US highway parallels Interstate 88 (East-West Tollway) from Rock Falls east to Aurora, where the route drops south to Plainfield and Joliet to parallel Interstate 80 east into Northwest Indiana. The East-West Tollway was once touted as U.S. 30 Toll from Aurora to the Tri-State Tollway. U.S. 30 Toll continued from the East-West Tollway southward along the Tri-State Tollway to Lansing to return to U.S. 30 via Illinois 394.
