Overall Arkansas State Highway 151 exists in three different parts on opposite ends of the state. Two segments span a total of 12.4 miles near Blytheville in Mississippi County while a 1.4 mile section follows the Texarkana Loop from State Line Avenue to Arkansas 549 (future Interstate 49) as an implied extension of Texas Loop 151. The Texarkana portion of Arkansas 151 was designated in May 2013 replacing now former Arkansas 245.

Arkansas 151 east (Texarkana Loop)
Texas Loop 151 transitions to Arkansas 151 as the freeway passes under State Line Avenue into the Natural State. Not signed, Arkansas 151 continues another 1.4 miles to an interchange with Arkansas 549 (future Interstate 49). Photo taken 05/20/14.
Arkansas 151 comes to an end one mile ahead at the merge with Arkansas 549 north to Little Rock and Fort Smith. Exit 1 to Arkansas 549 south will take motorists toward Shreveport, Louisiana lying 69.2 miles away. A separate ramp will lead drivers to U.S. 71 (Exit 29) to Downtown Texarkana in one mile. The Texarkana Loop currently carries Arkansas 549 along the east side of Texarkana to Interstate 30 and back to U.S. 71 north of the city. Little Rock is reached via I-30 east while U.S. 71 will take travelers north to Fort Smith. Photo taken 05/20/14.
Two lanes depart for Arkansas 549 (future Interstate 49) and Exit 1. The freeway presently ends at U.S. 71 in Doddridge near the Louisiana/Arkansas border. Once the remaining four mile segment is complete in summer 2014, Interstate 49 will take over for Arkansas 549 for its entire length in southwest Arkansas. Photo taken 05/20/14.
U.S. 71 (East Street) parallels Arkansas 549 from Louisiana north to Texarkana. The U.S. highway will briefly share pavement with U.S. 67 & 82 in Downtown before continuing north along State Line Avenue toward Ashdown and beyond. Photo taken 05/20/14.
A departure ramp leaves for U.S. 71 (East Street) to Texarkana. The northbound mainline of Arkansas 549 comes into view as Arkansas 151 ends. Arkansas 549 (future Interstate 49) will continue another 13 miles to U.S. 71 north of Texarkana. Photo taken 05/20/14.
Arkansas 151 west (Texarkana Loop)
Arkansas 151 begins its short 1.4-mile stint to State Line Avenue and the Texas state line as Arkansas 549 (future Interstate 49) south leaves for Shreveport. Previously designated Arkansas 245 until 2013, unsigned Arkansas 151 continues along the southern leg of the Texarkana Loop. Photo taken 05/20/14.
Crossing over Line Ferry Road, the freeway will encounter State Line Avenue in 0.75 miles at the Arkansas/Texas border. Photo taken 05/20/14.
An auxiliary lane will depart for State Line Avenue one half mile ahead. The local arterial travels south to Hoot Plant Road and north toward Downtown Texarkana. U.S. 71 will join State Line Avenue for its trek north toward Ashdown. Photo taken 05/20/14.
State Line Avenue straddles the Arkansas/Texas state line for most of its trip to Downtown Texarkana and north along U.S. 71. The local arterial dips solely into Texas on its final approach to 3rd and 4th Streets. Use 3rd Street east to reconnect with State Line Avenue north. Photo taken 05/20/14.
Unsigned Arkansas 151 reaches the diamond interchange with State Line Avenue. Continue along the Texarkana loop to reach U.S. 59 to Houston. U.S. 59 and Interstate 369 join the loop as it turns north toward Interstate 30 to Dallas. Photo taken 05/20/14.
Arkansas 151 gives way to Texas Loop 151 as the freeway passes under State Line Avenue into the Lone Star state. Texas Loop 151 goes for only 3.5 miles before its end at U.S. 59 and Interstate 369 and sees two additional exits with Farm to Market Road 558 (Buchanan Road) and FM 3527 (Leopard Drive).
