Ashley Drive connects the Tampa central business district with the Downtown West Interchange from Interstate 275. The landscaped boulevard extends south from freeway ramps between Tyler Street and SR 60 (Kennedy Boulevard) just east of the Hillsborough River and west of U.S. 41 Business (Tampa Street). SR 60 eastbound overlays a one block section of Ashley Drive, as it separates into the one-way couplet along Jackson Street and Kennedy Boulevard through Downtown.
South from the turn of SR 60 east onto Jackson Street, Ashley Drive narrows to three then two lanes. The drive becomes one-way southbound at Whiting Street, continuing to Brorein Street and the Tampa Convention Center.
