Colorado State Highway 30 is a 20.33 mile long route from Hampden in southeast Denver across the city of Aurora. SH 30 replaced U.S. 285 between I-25 and E 6th Avenue, when U.S. 285 was truncated south in 1978.
SH 30 extends Hampden Avenue east from the exchange joining Interstate 25 with the north end of U.S. 285 by University Hills and Southmoor Park in Denver. The six lane arterial curves northward onto Havana Street ahead of Cherry Creek at Kennedy Golf Course.
Havana Street constitutes a six lane commercial boulevard north through western Aurora, along the Denver city line at Hampden and again at Windsor by what was Lowry Air Force Base. SH 30 turns east onto E 6th Avenue to Del Mar Park, Interstate 225 and Buckley Space Force Base.
The eastern extent of SH 30 runs southeast from Stephen D. Hogan Parkway onto Gun Club Road. Paralleling the E-470 toll road, SH 30 (Gun Club Road) concludes south at a continuous flow intersection (CFI) with Quincy Avenue adjacent to the Denver beltway at Exit 13.
The first reassurance marker for SH 30 appears along Hampden Avenue east between I-25/U.S. 285 and Locust Street.
