County Road 887 constitutes a 6.84 mile loop east from U.S. 41 along Old US 41 through the city of Bonita Springs. The route is sparsely signed in Collier County and unmarked in Lee County. U.S. 41 was realigned to bypass Bonita Springs with the completion of a four lane, divided highway to the west by January 30, 1976. A subsequent application to the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) to relocate U.S. 41 westward was approved on July 8, 1977.
The lone reassurance marker for County Road 887 stands northbound between U.S. 41 and Gulf Coast Drive.
CR 865 (Bonita Beach Road) represents the main arterial across Bonita Springs between Interstate 75 and the Gulf Beaches.
CR 865 runs east to Interstate 75 and northwest along the coast from Bonita Shores to Fort Myers Beach.
CR 887 (Old US 41 Road) converges with U.S. 41 by the Landmark Naples manufactured home community.
