Sandwiched between high rise office buildings and Wilmington & Brandywine Cemetery, Delaware Avenue constitutes an eight-lane boulevard to Adams and Jefferson Streets. A trailblazer for SR 100 was previously posted at a bridge across a tributary of Brandywine Creek preceding North Dupont Road. The 1919 span here was reconstructed in 2006. Photo taken 03/20/04.
Until 1989, SR 100 followed North Dupont Road south through the Westover Hills community to Westmoreland and SR 48 (Lancaster Avenue) in Wilmington. It was relocated at that time to remove truck traffic through the affluent residential areas. Photo taken 12/22/16.
