State Road 678 - Bearss Avenue

Home » Guides » Florida » State Road 678 - Bearss Avenue

SR 678 travels just a half mile along Bearss Avenue between U.S. 41 Business (Florida Avenue) and U.S. 41 (Nebraska Avenue) north of the Tampa city limits near Lutz. The state maintained portion services the diamond interchange (Exit 53) with Interstate 275. Bearss Avenue east and west of SR 678 is undesignated, despite signs posted on both U.S. 41 and 41 Business referencing County Road 678.

Florida State Road 678 East
A lone reassurance marker stands along Bearss Avenue just east of U.S. 41 Business (Florida Avenue). Bearss Avenue carries six lanes between Florida Avenue and the southbound ramps with I-275. 01/30/15
Businesses line both sides of Bearss Avenue leading into the diamond interchange with Interstate 275. 01/30/15
The right lane defaults onto the southbound on-ramp to the city of Tampa. 01/17/15
Despite still being north of the Tampa city limits (SR 582 represents the north boundary 2.6 miles to the south), St. Petersburg is referenced as the southbound destination for Interstate 275. I-275 otherwise travels south between Florida and Nebraska Avenues to the Downtown Interchange with I-4 east. 01/17/15
SR 678 (Bearss Avenue) quickly intersects U.S. 41 (Nebraska Avenue) beyond the I-275 north side ramps. 08/22/15
U.S. 41 (Nebraska Avenue) parallels I-275 south to the North Tampa Community, Sulphur Springs and Old Seminole Heights in the city of Tampa. 08/22/15
Northward from Bearss Avenue, U.S. 41 passes underneath I-275 ahead of Chapman and the north end of U.S. 41 Business at Lutz. 08/22/15
Florida State Road 678 West
A trio of sign assemblies appear as Bearss Avenue leaves the intersection with U.S. 41 (Nebraska Avenue). A right turn lane opens immediately for Interstate 275 north to Pasco County while a dual turn lane serves southbound interests into Tampa. 04/24/15
Interstate 275 north travels uninterrupted 6.5 miles to end at ramps for SR 56 to Wesley Chapel and I-75 north. 04/24/15
Ocala is the northbound control city for Interstate 275 north from Downtown Tampa to Interstate 75. 04/24/15
The narrow nature of the I-275 overpass led to an uncommon configuration where the turn and main travel lanes of Bearss Avenue separate due to the bridge supports. The freeway leads south eight miles to Downtown. 04/24/15
SR 678 (Bearss Avenue) gains a third westbound lane from the I-275 southbound on-ramp to U.S. 41 Business (Florida Avenue). 04/24/15
The right lane defaults onto U.S. 41 Business north to Lutz. Florida Avenue south continues as a five-lane commercial boulevard into Tampa. 04/24/15
SR 678 ends as Bearss Avenue continues west from U.S. 41 Business (Florida Avenue) to Lake Magdalene, Carrollwood and SR 597 (Dale Mabry Highway) near the Northdale community. 04/24/15
