SR 678 travels just a half mile along Bearss Avenue between U.S. 41 Business (Florida Avenue) and U.S. 41 (Nebraska Avenue) north of the Tampa city limits near Lutz. The state maintained portion services the diamond interchange (Exit 53) with Interstate 275. Bearss Avenue east and west of SR 678 is undesignated, despite signs posted on both U.S. 41 and 41 Business referencing County Road 678.
