Staying west of Rensselaer, Interstate 65 partitions with Exit 215 to SR 114. SR 114 follows Clark Street to Cullen Street and downtown before exiting the city along Grace Street. Westward, the state road meets SR 55 near Mount Ayr. SR 55 parallels Interstate 65 northward to Hobart. 11/05/09
SR 14 meets Interstate 65 at the next exit, a diamond interchange added in 2005. Beginning at U.S. 41 at Enos, SR 14 heads east across the state to Winamac, Rochester, North Manchester and Fort Wayne for a distance of 123 miles. 11/05/09

Still 30 miles to the south of the Borman Expressway (I-80/94), signs alluded to the $300 million project that reconstructed the freeway from the Illinois state line and Interstate 65 as far south as Indianapolis. One such assembly was posted ahead of Exit 230. Work was completed on the project in 2011. 11/05/09
The final Jasper County exit joins Interstate 65 with SR 10 in one mile. Interstate 65 parallels the adjacent Newton County line closely from Exit 220 northward. 11/05/09
A hodgepodge of leafy subdivisions dot the area of Exit 230 and Interstate 65 along and to the north of SR 10. Roselawn lies just to the west. 11/05/09
Exit 230 leaves Interstate 65 north for the 85.3 mile long SR 10. SR 10 ends as Illinois 114 near Lake Village to the west and at SR 19 near Etna Green to the east. The rural route dog legs north to Demotte and an overlap with U.S. 231 to the east. 11/05/09

There are no exits in Newton County along Interstate 65 north. Instead motorists are provided with a distance sign to Lowell (15 miles), Merrillville (23 miles) and Chicago (65 miles). 11/05/09
The channelized Kankakee River separates Newton and Lake Counties at Interstate 65 northbound. This stretch of road was completed in 1966. 11/05/09
