U.S. 189 accompanies Interstate 80 east in an implied overlap between Silver Creek Junction and the Wyoming state line. Officially U.S. 189 travels just 28.90 miles in Utah between Provo and Heber City. The route is considered discontinuous between U.S. 40 at Heber City and the state line along I-80.
