I-83 enters Cumberland County at the west end of the John Harris Bridge, one half mile from the York Split interchange (Exit 41A). Exit 42 departs for Lowther Street, which parallels the freeway west to Exit 41B and Carlisle Road (SR 2018). 06/24/12
I-83 advances west from the 3rd Street overpass to the trumpet interchange (Exit 41A) with PA 581 (Harrisburg Expressway). I-83 turns south toward York while PA 581 heads west to U.S. 11/15 at Camp Hill and Interstate 81 near Good Hope. 06/24/12
Exit 41A is a continuation of the Harrisburg Expressway onto PA 581 west toward U.S. 11/15 at Camp Hill. There U.S. 15 branches southwest toward Gettysburg and Frederick, Maryland while U.S. 11 south merges with PA 581 west from Exit 5 to 3. 06/24/12
Interstate 83 south crosses Yellow Breeches Creek into York County ahead of Exit 40A for Limekiln Road. Just south of there is the trumpet interchange (Exit 39B) for the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) and the folded diamond interchange (Exit 39A) with PA 114 (Lewisberry Road). 07/01/00
