A collector distributor roadway (Exit 46) separates from I-95 north to the NC 87 freeway beyond the SR 2212 (Doc Bennett Road) overpass. NC 87 encircles the west side of Downtown Fayetteville with U.S. 401 Business between Robeson and Ramsey Streets. The state route combines with NC 24 (Bragg Boulevard) north to Fort Bragg and Spring Lake. 12/21/18
Exit 46A departs the northbound c/d roadway for NC 87 south to Grays Creek, Tar Heel, Dublin and Elizabethtown. The state route extends to Southport near the Cape Fear Inlet to the Atlantic. 12/21/18
Exit 46B departs for NC 87 north to Downtown Fayetteville. Fayetteville points of interest for Exit 46B include the Crown Center, the Airborne & Special Operations Museum, Fayetteville Museum of Art and Methodist University. 12/21/18
The c/d roadway from NC 87 returns to I-95 below the Elizabethtown Road (SR 2327) overpass. The freeway proceeds north across 1979 built bridges over the Cape Fear River. 12/21/18

NC 53/210 (Cedar Creek Road) branch 7.72 miles south from NC 24 and East Fayetteville to a parclo interchange (Exit 49) with I-95. NC 53 west ends at NC 210; NC 210 overlaps with NC 24 (Grove Street) through Downtown Fayetteville. Beyond Downtown, NC 210 continues to Fayetteville State University. 12/21/18

NC 24 travels east from Fayettevillet to Stedman, Autryville and Roseboro. Clinton, the Sampson County seat, lies 29 miles east at U.S. 421 and U.S. 701. NC 24 extends east from Jacksonville to U.S. 70 near Morehead City. 12/21/18

Business Loop I-95 returns to Interstate 95 north from Fayetteville at a wye interchange where the speed limit reduces to 65 miles per hour. 12/21/18
A five year widening project started in 2019 along the ensuing section of I-95. Costing $708.9 million, work expands the freeway from four to eight lanes 25 miles northward to Interstate 40.1 12/21/18
