Interstate 182 constitutes a 15.19 mile long spur east into the Tri-Cities of Washington from I-82 at Goose Gap between Candy and Badger Mountains. U.S. 12 accompanies the entire length of I-182, extending the freeway east to A Street in Pasco.

The route of I-182/U.S. 12 through Richland crosses the Yakima River ahead of an overlap with SR 240 south of the city center. SR 240 branches southeast along a freeway into the city of Kennewick. Shifting northeast over Lake Wallula on the Columbia River, I-182/U.S. 12 enter both the city of Pasco and Franklin County. U.S. 395 joins the two routes south of Tri-Cities Airport (PSC) and east across the BNSF Railway Pasco Yard facility. U.S. 395 branches north toward Ritzville from the exchange with SR 397 (Oregon Avenue) south toward the Pasco city center. I-182 ends along U.S. 12 midway between U.S. 395/SR 397 and E Lewis Street.
