U.S. 75 separates from I-480 along the North Freeway toward Florence in north Omaha. The North Freeway was historically designated Interstate 580.

I-480 turns east toward Council Bluffs along the north side of Downtown Omaha. U.S. 75 extends north to Sorensen Parkway west and Arthur C. Storz Expressway east to Eppley Airfield (OMA).

Interstate 480 East

The interchange joining I-480 (Gerald R. Ford Freeway) with the North Freeway (U.S. 75) originally had ramps for the unconstructed West Freeway. Completed in 2011, the exchange was rebuilt to both eliminate left exit ramps and remove unused connections to the West Freeway.

I-480/U.S. 6 span the Missouri River across the Grenville Dodge Memorial Bridge to Council Bluffs, Iowa. This sign bridge was removed in 2022.

A Union Pacific Railroad line crosses the Missouri River south of I-480/U.S. 6. Harrahs Council Bluffs Hotel and Casino lies along the east banks.
