A three lane ramp from I-80 west forms the northbound mainline of Interstate 680. An adjacent ramp forms a c/d roadway running north along I-680 to W Center Road at Exit 1.
Curving north through the three-wye interchange, the high flyover connecting I-80 east with Interstate 680 north passes overhead.
A lane drop occurs along the flyover from I-80 east to I-680 north at the slip ramp (Exit 1) for the c/d roadway to W Center Road.
Two lanes continue north and merge with the I-680 roadway from I-80 west beyond Exit 1. W Center Road was formerly N-38.
