New York Route 25A travels 73.09 miles from the Long Island Expressway (I-495) at Long Island City in Queens, New York to NY 25 (Middle Country Road) at Calverton in Suffolk County. Within New York City, NY 25A branches northeast from Interstate 495 along Jackson Avenue to NY 25 (Queens Boulevard) at the east end of the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge. The remainder of the route across Queens follows Northern Boulevard.
Northern Boulevard leads NY 25A east to Astoria and Woodside, where the state route meets Interstate 278 (Brooklyn Queens Expressway). East through Jackson Heights, Northern Boulevard converges with Astoria Boulevard and Grand Central Parkway (GCP) by Citi Field, home of the New York Mets. NY 25A runs alongside the Whitestone Expressway linking the GCP with I-678 (Van Wyck Expressway) at Willets Point. NY 25A continues east from there to Flushing and Murray Hill. Ramps connect Northern Boulevard with I-295 (Clearview Expressway) between the Auburndale and Bayside neighborhoods of east Queens. NY 25A runs through Douglaston-Little Neck and into Nassau County at University Gardens.
NY 25A runs through Huntington, Northport, Stony Brook along the North Shore of Long Island.
