U.S. 218 Iowa 27 South
U.S. 218/Iowa 27 (Avenue of the Saints) crosses paths with Iowa 16 two miles south of the Henry County line. 04/13/13

Exit 19 departs U.S. 218/Iowa 27 south for Iowa 2 (Madison Avenue). Iowa 2 stretches 251 miles across the southern tier of the state. The highway ends at the Fort Madison city line east of U.S. 61, while extending into Nebraska as N-2 to Lincoln. 04/13/13

Iowa 27 replaced Iowa 394 in 2004 when it was designated for the Avenue of the Saints corridor throughout the state. U.S. 218 rejoins its original two lane route southeast from 180th Avenue to New Boston and an overlap with U.S. 61 near Melrose. Iowa 27 remains an expressway to the Missouri state line. 04/13/13
U.S. 61 Business U.S. 218 South
An end shield is posted for the southern terminus of U.S. 218 at 7th and Main Streets in Downtown Keokuk. U.S. 61 Business overlaps with U.S. 218 south from U.S. 61 to 7th Street, and with U.S. 136 west back to U.S. 61 near the Des Moines River bridge. 05/07/10
U.S. 136 travels just 3.6 miles through the southeastern tip of Iowa. The route joins Keokuk with Hamilton and Carthage, Illinois to the east and Wayland and Kahoka, Missouri to the west. 05/07/10
Main Street continues south from U.S. 218/61 Business as U.S. 136 east for another six blocks to the Keokuk-Hamilton Bridge across the Mississippi River. 7th Street carries U.S. 136/61 Business west with four overall lanes. 05/07/10
