Partitioned into three sections, State Route 13 crosses northern reaches of Utah along a 135.62 mile course. The western segment extends from the end of Nevada State Route 233 at Tecoma Valley by the Bovine Mountains to Rosette. Passing south of the Raft River Mountains, SR 13 arcs northward from Park Valley to SR 42 at Curlew Junction. East across Curlew Valley, SR 13 follows historic U.S. 30S along a linear route 20.6 miles to Interstate 84 near Snowville.

The central section of SR 30 runs east from the Riverside/Logan Interchange with Interstate 15 to U.S. 91 in Logan. Totaling 19.31 miles, this stretch of highway traverses northern reaches of the Wellsville Mountains to join Bear River Valley with Cache Valley.

SR 30 resumes south from U.S. 89 at Garden City, straddling the west shore of Bear Lake to Laketown. The 25.69 mile segment climbs through Old Laketown Canyon over northern reaches of the Wasatch Range east to SR 16 at Sage Creek Junction. The state route ends east of the Bear River at Wyoming 89.

Utah State Route 30 East
The central section of SR 30 commences at a diamond interchange with I-15 along the slopes of the West Hills rising above Riverside. 08/10/16
Fed by the Bear River, the fertile Bear River Valley spreads into view between Interstate 15 and Cache Butte (el. 5,351 feet). I-15 travels north to Plymouth and Pocatello, Idaho. 08/10/16
Lowering to the unincorporated community of Riverside, motorists pass by the first confirming marker for SR 30 ahead of West canal and at-grade crossing with the Union Pacific Railroad. 08/10/16
The central portion of SR 30 concludes 19 miles to the east at the city of Logan. 08/10/16
SR 30 (15200 North) meets SR 13 (5400 West) 1.25 miles east of I-15 at Riverside. 08/10/16
SR 13 follows the former alignment of U.S. 191 north from Riverside to Plymouth and south to eastern reaches of Garland and Tremonton. 08/10/16
Utah State Route 30 West
Traveling west from SR 13 (5400 West) at Riverside, SR 30 gains 150 feet in elevation to I-15 on the West Hills. 08/10/16
6000 West provides a second route south from SR 13 to the city of Garland. 08/10/16
The central portion of SR 30 concludes at the Riverside Interchange (Exit 385) of Interstate 15. 08/10/16

Pocatello, Idaho lies 85 miles north from the SR 30 entrance ramp. Speed limits along the freeway are posted at 80 miles per hour to the state line. 08/10/16
