Traveling across Cache County, State Route 101 originates in Wellsville, linking the city with Hyrum across the Cache Valley. The eastern extent of the 21.81-mile highway ascends into the Bear River Range and Wasatch-Cache National Forest through Blacksmith Fork Canyon to Hardware Ranch. Laketown Road extends northeast from the state route end.
