Traveling east from SR 111, SR 173 is an arterial route through the outskirts of West Valley City, Kearns, Taylorsville and U.S. 89 (State Street) in Murray. The state route measures 9.94 miles in length, mostly along 5400 South, with shifts south onto 5415 South and north along 5300 South.
