Interstate 090 NYS Thruway East
Leading away from the greater Rochester area, Interstate 90 travels north of the Finger Lakes Region from Exit 44 to Exit 41. Made famous for its scenery and vineyards, the Finger Lakes area encompasses the region of Upstate New York between I-390 and I-81. 05/09/05
The New York Thruway passes north of the town of Victor en route to the trumpet interchange (Exit 44) with NY 332 (Rochester Road) south. 05/09/05
New York Route 332 begins at Exit 44 and ventures southward 9.4 miles to U.S. 20/NY 5-21 in the city of Canandaigua. Canandaigua lies on the north end of Canandaigua Lake. 05/09/05
NY 21 travels northeast from Canandaigua seven miles to meet the New York Thruway at Manchester. 05/09/05
NY 21 heads six miles north to NY 31 at the village of Palmyra. NY 31 runs eight miles east to Newark. NY 96 parallels I-90 from just south of Exit 43 east to Clifton Springs and Phelps. 05/09/05
Entering the trumpet interchange (Exit 43) for NY 21 on I-90 eastbound. NY 21 constitutes a 100 mile long route between Andover in the Southern Tier and Williamson in northern Wayne County. 05/09/05

NY 14 crosses the New York Thruway east of the trumpet interchange at Exit 42 in the town of Phelps. The state route joins I-90 with the city of Geneva to the south and the village of Lyons to the north. NY 318 stems east from the exchange to Junius and Tyre. 05/09/05
A cloverleaf interchange joins NY 14 with NY 96 just south of Exit 42. NY 96 ventures seven miles east to Waterloo and 49 miles southeast to Ithaca. 05/09/05
NY 14 travels along Seneca Lake from Geneva southward to Watkins Glen. The state route eventually reaches the city of Elmira. Heading north from I-90, NY 14 extends 23 miles to Sodus Point on Lake Ontario. 05/09/05
Crossing into Seneca County, I-90 advances east to Exit 41 with NY 414 (Ridge Road). The state route travels south 4.7 miles south to U.S. 20/NY 5 midway between Waterloo and Seneca Falls. 05/09/05
NY 414 heads north along Ridge Road eight miles from I-90 to Clyde. Southward the state route merges with U.S. 20/NY 5 through Seneca Falls en route to Corning. Seneca Falls is home to Women's Rights National Park. 05/09/05
Interstate 90 follows the New York Thruway another 38 miles to Syracuse. New York City is 320 miles away at the south end of the toll road. 05/09/05
Interstate 90 plies across northern reaches of Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge in the town of Tyre. 05/09/05
NY 90 runs alongside the New York Thruway northeast from U.S. 20/NY 5 to NY 31 at Montezuma. 05/09/05
The Port Byron Service Area follows two miles east of the NY 90 overpass at Montezuma. 05/09/05
The Port Byron Service Area lies just east of the NY 31 over crossing and west of the village of Port Byron. 05/09/05
Interstate 90 bypasses Port Byron to the north ahead of Exit 40 for NY 34 and the village of Weedsport. Deriving its name from settlers Elihu and Edward Weed, Weedsport was home to 1,815 residents in 2010. 05/09/05
Measuring 99 miles from I-86/NY 17 at Waverly, PA to NY 104 at Hannibal, NY 34 provides a direct route to Oswego along Lake Ontario via NY 104 and the Skaneateles and Owasco Finger Lakes south and east of Auburn. 05/09/05
NY 34 represents the main route between the New York Thruway and the city of Auburn. Home of former New York Governor William H. Seward and the post-Civil War home of Harriet Tubman, Auburn is a city rich in history. It was named after the Yorkshire town cited in Oliver Goldsmith's poem, "Deserted Village". 05/09/05
Interstate 90 leaves Weedsport and enters Onondaga County, home of Syracuse. The first of five interchanges for the city joins the New York Thruway with I-690/NY 690. Collectively I-690/NY 690 join Downtown Syracuse with Baldwinsville. 05/09/05
Exit 39 serves the Onondaga Lake area and the New York State Fairgrounds via Interstate 690 east to Geddes and Solvay. NY 690 extends the freeway seven miles north to NY 48 (Oswego Road). NY 48 continues northward nine miles to Fulton. 05/09/05
The trumpet interchange and access road at Exit 39 links I-90 with NY 690 north and I-690 east in the town of Van Buren. I-690 loops 5.5 miles southeast to I-81 and 14 miles to I-481 by East Syracuse. NY 695 ties into the urban loop from the NY 5 freeway between Camillus and Fairmount. 05/09/05
