Michigan U.S. Highway 10

Michigan U.S. Highway 10 sign.

1965 specification guide sign shield. Manufactured between 1965 and 1975.

Bay City Road, Midland. In the 1950s, this was route M-20 west from Bay City (instead of originating in Midland as it does today). US 10 came up from Saginaw on what is M-47 today. When the I-75 freeway was built, US 10 was moved to the M-20 position, and the US 10 freeway parallel to the old Bay City Road between Bay City and Midland. So – this oddball was meant to direct traffic from the old road to the new one, less than a mile to the north.
