High Point, New Jersey.
This is my only photo of a standard New Jersey shield of that era. The state route shields AND the US Route shields were all dark green with white lettering (just the number in the shield, no “NJ” or “US”). They were superseded by the standard black-and-white circles, starting in the mid-1960s.
