Florida State Road 618 - West

Entering the former main line toll plaza along the Crosstown Expressway between Exits 12 and 11. 01/28/07

The toll booths included a pair of Sunpass-dedicated lanes, but no options for open road tolling. The switch to all electronic tolling in September 2010 eliminated the congestion caused by the plaza. 01/28/07

The wide swath of pavement was mostly removed with the dismantling of the toll plaza. The westbound lanes again pass below the Express Lanes viaduct. 01/28/07

An Arial-font based sign once directed traffic to Exit 11 and U.S. 41 (50th Street). This was one of several signs posted along the Crosstown with the incorrect font. 01/28/07

A diamond interchange (Exit 10) originally connected the Selmon Expressway with the south end of 39th Street. It was removed partially due to the construction of the Express Lanes and fully with construction of the Selmon Connector. 01/28/07

39th Street stemmed north from SR 618 to adjacent SR 60 (Adamo Drive), where State Road 569 begins. 01/28/07

Exit 9 departed one mile west of 39th Street. The off-ramp was extended to just west of 39th Street as part of a distributor roadway with the Selmon Connector south. 01/28/07

Approaching what is now the site of a high speed directional T interchange with the Selmon Connector along SR 618 west. 01/28/07

Westbound at the former ramp departure of Exit 9 to U.S. 41 Business (22nd Street). Sign replacements no longer omit the U.S. route designation. 01/28/07

Exit 5 constitutes a half-diamond interchange with Plant Avenue and the parallel Brorein Street. Some signs, including this one along the Crosstown Expressway west for Exit 5, were changed between August and November of 2006. 08/20/06

Since this was an older plaza, only one SunPass-dedicated lane was in use. Motorists were required to slow to 25 miles per hour through the former toll booth lane. 11/08/06
