Florida State Road 836 - West

Previous sign bridge located at the loop ramp to SR 959 south (NW 57th Avenue/Red Road). The tolled expressway continued 1.5 miles west to NW 72nd Avenue. 12/27/99

Motorists bound for SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway) shifted left in one half mile due to ongoing construction at the SR 826/836 interchange. NW 72nd Avenue and Milam Dairy Road were still accessed via an exit from the right lane ahead. 07/05/11

Prior to the modern TOLL shields posted along SR 836, typical state roads shields were used along the expressway. This reassurance shield stood along the Dolphin Expressway west of the entrance ramp from SR 959 (NW 57th Avenue). 12/27/99

As of 2014, this overhead was covered with a temporary sign where westbound SR 836 traffic briefly followed the distributor ramp to NW 72nd Avenue. 07/05/11

Some guide signs preceding the Palmetto Expressway interchange were moved based on changing traffic patterns during construction. This was the case for this advance guide sign for the Turnpike, as it was relocated from the mainline to the distributor roadway. 07/05/11

The previous configuration of the interchange joining SR 836 and the Palmetto Expressway included a left exit ramp for SR 826 south to the Coral Way interchange beyond U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail). A separate exit leaves ahead for both Flagler Street and U.S. 41, which run parallel south of the Dolphin Expressway. 07/05/11

Construction upgrading the SR 836/826 interchange into a systems exchange through 2015 combined the exits for the Palmetto Expressway into a single ramp. 07/05/11

SR 836 west crossed the Palmetto Expressway west ahead of the exit to Flagler Street and U.S. 41. The expressway proceeded another half mile to NW 12th Street to NW 87th Avenue. Flyover ramps connecting the two expressways span both state roads here now. 07/05/11

Due to the close proximity of both arterials along SR 826 this separate loop ramp connected with both Flagler Street (SR 968) and U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail) to address weaving traffic. The loop ramp was eventually removed with access to both SR 968 and U.S. 41 provided by a Texas-style U-turn ramp. 07/05/11

This auxiliary guide sign and a portion of the departure ramp to NW 12th Street and NW 87th Avenue was removed by 2014 when the westbound roadway temporarily shifted north along what became a collector distributor roadway. The slip ramp represented the last toll-free exit along the Dolphin Expressway. 07/05/11

Two lanes departed SR 836 west for NW 12th Street to NW 87th Avenue north. NW 12th Street follows closely to the Dolphin Expressway from Miami International Airport to NW 137th Avenue. NW 87th Avenue continues north from SR 836 through the city of Doral to NW 74th Avenue. This sign bridge was completely removed by 2013. 07/05/11

Previous sign bridge at the exit to SR 985 south (NW 107th Avenue). SR 836 defaulted to Florida's Turnpike in 0.5 miles. 12/27/99
