Interstate 70 Missouri - East

Guide signs for I-70/U.S. 40 at U.S. 71 and I-670 in Kansas City were replaced when U.S. 24 was realigned from Independence Boulevard in 2018. 06/19/15

Signs for the Poplar Street Bridge exchange between I-44, I-55, I-64 and I-70 appeared two miles ahead of the former merge of I-70 east with I-55 north / I-64 east. This sign bridge was removed with the realignment of I-70 in February 2014. 04/13/13

The Express Lanes prepared to split with Exit 292B (old Exit 249D) onto Broadway south ahead of the Dome at America's Center and the I-44 /Former I-70 mainline. 04/13/13

Ramps joined Tucker Boulevard and the Stan Musial Veterans Bridge above the Interstate 70 east transition to Interstate 44 west. The lower ramp of the tri-level stack interchange is the new I-70 eastbound mainline. 04/13/13

Sign changes made at former Exit 249C / new Exit 292B removed Busch Stadium and redirected motorists south to Exit 292A for Convention Plaza. 04/13/13

Exit 250A departed from I-70 east for Martin Luther King Bridge east to Illinois and Laclede's Landing Boulevard toward the Gateway Arch. 04/13/13

Exit 250A was renumbered to Exit 292A. The ramp was expanded by 2015 to include access to Convention Plaza west. 04/13/13

Expansion of Exit 292A coincided with the elimination of Exit 250B to Memorial Drive during the CityArch2015 project. 04/13/13

Elevating across the west approach roads to both the MLK Bridge (historic U.S. 40-50-66) and the Eads Bridge, I-44 west / A half-diamond interchange originally joined I-70 with parallel Memorial Drive at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. 04/13/13

Ramps to Memorial Drive from I-44 west and from Memorial Drive to I-44 west were swapped as part of the CityArchRiver project through to October 28, 2015. 04/13/13

The Gateway Arch rose prominently between the freeway and Mississippi River as former Exit 250B departed onto Memorial Drive at Pine Street. 04/13/13

All signs posted here at the old Exit 250B gore point are historical due to the Park Over the Highway (CityArchRiver) Project and Poplar Street Ramp project. 04/13/13

I-70 turned east from the below grade freeway through Downtown to join I-55 north / I-64-U.S. 40 east across the Poplar Street Bridge into East St. Louis, Illinois. I-64 branches southeast from the overlap with I-55 north to Mount Vernon, Illinois and Louisville, Kentucky while I-55 north combines with I-70 northeast to Troy. 04/13/13

I-44 west / I-55 south overlap one mile from the Poplar Street Bridge to Soulard. The former single lane mainline ramp of I-70 east was closed and subsequently dismantled, along with the adjacent Memorial Drive on-ramp to the PSB. 04/13/13

The I-70 mainline combined with a single lane ramp of I-55 north to add two lanes to the eight-lane Poplar Street Bridge. Three other elevated ramps at this exchange were torn down and replaced with work started in early 2014. 06/01/11
