Interstate 80 Illinois - East

nterstate 80 climbs a bluff along the east banks of the Mississippi River as Exit 1 loops away to Illinois 84 at Rapids City. This overhead was replaced by 2011. 09/04/05

Two mile notice is given for Interstate 88 (Exit 4B) along I-80 east at the Illinois Welcome Center near Rapids City. All guide signs for the eastern terminus of I-88 along I-80 east were replaced by 2011. 09/04/05

One mile north of the cloverleaf interchange (Exits 4A/B) with Interstate 88, Illinois 5, Illinois 92 and Illinois 110. Sign changes made by 2011 did not include the Chicago-Kansas City Expressway route of IL-110 on guide signs. 09/04/05

Sign changes made for Exit 5A replaced Silvis with East Moline as the control city for IL 5/92 west. 09/04/05

Interstate 88 becomes a toll road east of Dixon. The East West Tollway designation was renamed to honor Ronald Reagan in 2004. Sign changes made by 2011 retain the 1958-name. 09/04/05

Exit 4A departed I-80 east for Illinois 5 and 92 west to East Moline and their split at Silvis. 09/04/05

I-88 provides a direct route from the Quad Cities to Chicago. Control cities for Exit 4B however retain Sterling and Rock Falls, where the freeway ties into U.S. 30. 09/04/05
