This ground level sign for Exit 1 was moved to an overhead when an extra lane was added to I-80 west between the weigh station on-ramp and IL-84. 10/03/08

Ground level signs formerly posted at the Exit 1 off-ramp replaced by an overhead when I-80 was expanded in 2009. Historically Illinois 84 was numbered as Illinois 80, forming a multi-state route with Wisconsin 80 to the north of Galena. 09/04/05

The Iowa welcome center for I-80 west referenced at Exit 1 was closed at the end of 2011. It was situated off of U.S. 67 via Eagle Ridge Road adjacent to Exit 306. 09/04/05
