Interstate 295 Florida - East Beltway


These two signs one-half mile out from SR 105 (Exit 41) were replaced and combined onto an overhead by March 2011 with Jaxport Terminals replacing Blount Island as a destination. 07/04/06

SR 9A continues south from Florida 105 (Heckscher Drive) as the Napolean Bonaparte Broward Bridge comes into full view. 07/04/06

This auxiliary mileage sign for Atlantic Boulevard (SR 10) to both area beaches and Naval Station Mayport was replaced by a mileage sign showing the next two freeway-to-freeway connections along I-295 south: SR 202 (Butler Boulevard) and Interstate 95. 07/04/06

A diagrammatic sign replaced this assembly on the 0.75-mile approach to SR 113 (Southside Connector) and Merrill Road. 07/04/06

Newer signs at this location split the connections for Merrill Road into east (via the Southside Connector) and west (via I-295 south) while also removing the mileage sign. 07/04/06

The SR 113 designation was also added for the Southside Connector on the later replacements. 07/04/06

This auxiliary sign near the Brookview Drive overpass was removed by March 2011 in favor of a mileage sign to Butler Boulevard (SR 202) and I-95. 07/04/06

SR 9A south as it spans St. Johns Bluff Road toward U.S. 90 and beyond. Prior to this stretch of freeway opening in the early 2000s SR 9A defaulted onto St. Johns Bluff Road south to SR 202 (Butler Boulevard). 07/04/06

Construction was evident in this dated scene for the upgrade of the SR 9A/202 exchange. This was the final leg of SR 9A and the East Beltway to be completed. Here an advance auxiliary sign indicated the approaching ramps for SR 202 west and east. 07/04/06

Prior to the turbine interchange configuration between SR 9A (I-295) and SR 202, the two highways met at a diamond interchange with traffic signals governing movements along State Road 9A. 07/04/06

Drivers were required to make a left turn to access SR 202 (Butler Boulevard) east toward the coast. 07/04/06

Construction underway along I-295 south, five months before the phase one opening of State Road 9B south to U.S. 1 (Philips Highway). 03/03/13

All guide signs for SR 9B (Left Exit 58) were replaced during construction of the I-295 Express Lanes. 06/16/16
