Reflectorized signage replaced the original button copy panel at the off-ramp (Exit 79) to U.S. 29 by 2008. 07/12/05

A Clearview font based sign replaced the one-mile panel for Exit 77 and County Road 28 by 2010. 07/12/05

Greenouts on Exit 64 signs replaced the 2000-approved realignment of U.S. 29 away from Opelika and Auburn onto an overlap with I-85. The sign here was replaced by 2010. 07/12/05

Original button copy sign posted at the diamond interchange (Exit 62) with U.S. 280 east and U.S. 431 at east Opelika. This sign was carbon copied by 2010 instead of showing U.S. 280 east only as westbound combines with I-85/U.S. 29 south. 07/12/05

This button copy sign for the southbound beginning of Alabama 51 and nearby Alabama 169 (Marvyn Parkway) at Exit 60 was replaced by 2010. 07/12/05

An older state named shield was still in use for Interstate 85 south after Exit 60 until 2005. U.S. 280 was added to this stretch in 1999. 07/12/05

Exit 57 originally connected Interstate 85 with Glenn Avenue. Glenn Avenue was realigned with the runways at Auburn University Regional Airport were extended southward. The road south to I-85 and Hamilton Road was later renamed to Bent Creek Road. 07/12/05

U.S. 29 formerly crossed paths with Interstate 85 at a rural diamond interchange (Exit 51). The route north along College Street is now Alabama 147 and areas adjacent to the exchange are populated with an array of traveler services and car dealerships. 07/12/05

he rural four lane stretch of Interstate 85 was expanded to six overall lanes through to the 2012-opened Exit 50 with Alabama Technology Parkway. 07/11/10

The opening of Exit 50 broke an eight mile exit less stretch leading I-85 southwest away from Auburn. 07/11/10

The distance sign posted west of Exit 16 was removed during construction for the interchange with the Montgomery Outer Loop (SR 108). 07/31/11

U.S. 80 was relocated from a south side frontage road to Interstate 85, in 2010. Signs for Exit 11 were amended to display SR 126 in place of the U.S. Route. 07/31/11

U.S. 80 turned northwest from I-85 at Exit 11 to Mitylene. Now the route remains paired with the freeway west to East Boulevard (Exit 6). 07/31/11

Old U.S. 80 leading back east to Mt. Meigs was renumbered as part of Alabama 126. The state route forms a complete loop using the north and south side frontage roads. 07/31/11

Construction of the directional T interchange (Exit 15) joining I-85/U.S. 80 with SR 108 west. 12/31/12

This Exit 6 overhead for East Boulevard was replaced between 2005 and 2010. The new sign placed the street name above the shield array. 07/12/05

This set of overheads for the south end of I-85 was replaced with two warning signs for the sharp curve onto Interstate 65 south. 12/31/12
