U.S. 19 Florida - North


U.S. 19 advanced north from the Drew Street exit one mile to Florida 590 (NE Coachman Road) as an at-grade road. 01/02/06

Construction to upgrade U.S. 19 into a freeway at Florida 590 first shifted southbound traffic onto a new elevated roadway. Northbound drivers remained on the frontage road through to a signalized intersection with NE Coachman Road. 01/02/06

Florida 590 shield temporarily posted at the U.S. 19 intersection with NE Coachman Road. This roadway now acts as the northbound side frontage road. Florida 590 exists as two segments within Safety Harbor. The stretch through Downtown and north along Phillippe Parkway was decommissioned through to Enterprise Road. 01/02/06

Pinellas County 576 (Sunset Point Road) crosses paths with U.S. 19 at what is now a single point urban interchange. 01/02/06

U.S. 19 downgraded into an at-grade arterial route north of Sunset Point Road and ahead of Enterprise Road. A final freeway segment carried the highway above Countryside Boulevard and Florida 580 (Main Street) at Countryside. 01/02/06

The U.S. 19 frontage road system resumed through the SPUI with Countryside Boulevard. The service roads now extend south beyond Enterprise Road. 01/02/06

Approaching Florida 582 (Tarpon Avenue) along U.S. 19 north in Tarpon Springs. Florida 582 entailed just the stretch of Tarpon Avenue between U.S. 19 and U.S. 19 Alternate (Pinellas Avenue) in Downtown. It was decommissioned after 2011. 10/03/04

Pinellas County 582 follows Keystone Road east from Tarpon Springs to East Lake and Brooker Creek Reserve to Tarpon Springs Road at the Hillsborough County line.
Trailblazers for Keystone Road east to Florida 589 were removed by 2015. 10/03/04

Connections from CR 582 east to Tarpon Springs Road, Gunn Highway (CR 587) south and Van Dyke Road (CR 685A) east lead motorists to SR 589 (Suncoast Parkway). 10/03/04
